Международная Жаутыковская олимпиада

   Министерство Образования и науки Республики Казахстан с целью развития отношений между странами, пропаганды научных знаний и укрепления связей между физико-математическими школами проводит 4-ую Международную Жаутыковскую олимпиаду по математике и физике.
   Олимпиада пройдет в г. Алматы Республики Казахстан с 14 по 20 января 2008 года, на базе Республиканской специализированной физико-математической средней школы-интернат им. О. Жаутыкова.
  Приглашаются команды школ зарубежных стран из числа специализированных физико-математических школ, лицеев, гимназий и других школ. В состав каждой команды должно входить не более 7 участников: до 3-х участников по физике и до 4-х участников по математике и 1 или 2 руководителя (физик, математик), владеющих одним из трех официальных языков олимпиады: казахским, русским или английским. В Олимпиаде могут принять участие команды нескольких школ из одной страны. Оргкомитет олимпиады оставляет за собой право ограничить количество участия команд школ, представляющих одну страну или город.

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen!

    I have the honor on behalf of the Steering Committee to invite schools, gymnasiums, lyceums and other boarding schools teams from your country to participate in the V International Zhautykov Olympiad on Mathematics, Physics and Informatics.
     The contest will take place in Almaty, Republic of Kazakhstan, on January 14-20, 2009. Teams of foreign countries from specialized physical and mathematical schools, lyceums, and other schools are invited. Each team, as a rule, should consist of no more than 7 participants: up to 3 participants on mathematics, up to 2 on physics and up to 2 participants on informatics and 1 or 2 team leaders (the physicist, the mathematician, the teacher of informatics). Contestants should not have enrolled at the university or any other equivalent post-secondary institution, and they must have been born on or after January 16, 1989. In order to have a proper coordination it is desirable that leaders will be able to discuss on his/her subject in one of the official languages of the Olympiad (Kazakh, Russian or English). More than one team of your country could participate in the Olympiad.
     Arrival date – January 14 and the first half of January 15, 2009. Departure date – January 20, 2009.
     The Steering Committee will cover all official expenses of the team, including accommodation fees and provide local transportation during your stay in Almaty. Round trip ticket from your city to Almaty, health and travel insurances will be your responsibility.
     Please confirm your participation until December 25, 2008.
     I also would like to note that according to decision of International Jury the IMO 2010 (International Olympiad in Mathematics) will be held in Kazakhstan.
